What’s the difference between Online and Hosted?
Microsoft CRM Online is a service hosted by Microsoft on shared servers. It is great for small deployments but doesn’t allow the full integration and customization capabilities required for larger deployments.
Hosted Microsoft CRM is a service provided by Project Hosts where your CRM deployment can be deployed on shared or dedicated servers (virtual or physical). Integration with SharePoint is supported, and partner add-on apps or your own customizations can be installed. On dedicated servers, companies can also provide their own licenses and receive discounted monthly fees.
Top 5 reasons to choose Microsoft CRM hosted by Project Hosts
- Better security (listen to Interview with Amway, why they chose Project Hosts over CRM Online)
- Better performance (CRM Online can be slow, especially with add-on apps or for large customers)
- Seamless Integration to SharePoint (Not possible with CRM Online + Office 365), see webcast
- Full flexibility to add any partner apps or custom code (CRM Online does not allow custom code)
- Lower monthly fees for large deployments (Buy licenses on your EA and get much lower monthly fees)
